Lube 101: which lubricant for which toy

The wrong lubricant can ruin a toy or an evening. Here is the short version.

Water-based

Safe with every material, including silicone toys and latex condoms. Reapply as it dries.

Silicone-based

Long lasting and great for anal play and shower use, but never on silicone toys: it softens the surface over time. Fine with glass, steel and hard plastic.

Oil-based

Oils degrade latex condoms and many toy materials. Keep oils for massage and skin.

Cleaning

Warm water and mild soap before and after every use. Let toys dry fully before storing them separately.
