BDSM basics: consent, safewords and aftercare

Kink is play between adults who all say yes. Before anything else, agree on what is on the table, what is off, and how to stop.

Consent

Talk before you play, not during. Name limits out loud and respect them without negotiation in the moment.

Safewords

Pick a word that would never come up naturally, or use the traffic light system: green for more, yellow for slow down, red for stop everything. If someone is gagged, agree on a signal such as dropping a held object.

Aftercare

Endorphins drop fast when a scene ends. Water, warmth, a blanket and a few quiet minutes together go a long way. Check in again the next day.
